Lifeboats and ice cream

A week last Saturday was a hot day on Hyde Civic Square.

Behind the charity stall for the RNLI is Madge's ice-cream van (established 1897). That business is about as old the children's carousel glimpsed on the right.

In the background are bookies William Hill and the Santander Bank (a former Abbey bank and the only Santander in town now the former Bradford & Bingley has been closed).

A contribution to Blue Monday.

  5. Hi Gerald,

Mmm, I'd love some of that ice cream--especially with blue on the truck! Thanks for sharing.

    Happy Blue Monday!

  6. I feel as though I'm walking through the street right behind that lady. Love the way the blues are balanced in the photo.

  7. I am waiting for eight o'clock so my honey can buy me a half price milkshake at Sonic Drive In! That ice cream truck made me smile. Lots of great things going on in your photo. I see lots of blue. Have a great week.
