Not a cigarette bin
The bin next to the Barclays Cash machine is accompanied by the sign: "Not a cigarette bin".
The sign above the ATM has clearly been there some time as it says "We welcome customers of other banks and building societies, including:" and lists The Woolwich (part of Barclays since 2006/7) and the Abbey National which changed to simply the Abbey in 2003 and has been Santander since 2010.
A contribution to signs, signs.

I thought that was very generous of them not to charge, but then reading your post, I see they are not spending much money updating the signs!
ReplyDeleteInteresting.
ReplyDeleteAmazing how signs may be a clue to history over time - bit like ring-barking a tree in human terms.
ReplyDeletei hate getting charged for using another bank's atm. the other day, when i took the boys to the movies (today's post actually lol) i had to use the atm next door and was charged $3 for it. highway robbery!
ReplyDeletehee hee... Did you check to see if there were any extra Pound notes left in the cash dispenser? :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there have been some dynamic flareups here.
ReplyDeleteHot, Hot, Hot...
