ABC Wednesday: Q is for Queen Street

At one time Queen Street was a busy thoroughfare that went through Slack Mill to Lumn Road.

Now a school and new houses have been built on the site of the mill so now it only leads to the school gates and the car park for the gymnasium belonging to Ricky (Hitman) Hatton.

Note the 20mph sign on the road.

For more Qs visit ABC Wednesday.

  1. Lovely photo. I like how the English streets are posted on gates, brick walls or fences.

  2. Things change don't they. Who knows what the future holds for Queen Street.

  3. The Queen should have a more regal street, no?

  4. A very appropriate choice. Some time ago I used to participate in this meme, and the weekly challenge was really stimulating.

  5. The number "20" is large enough so people can't miss it! Doesn't mean that they won't heed the speed limit though! I love the design on the metal fence.

  6. Is the 20 painted inside a big letter "Q"? I love the building, it looks like it has a rounded corner.

  7. Oh, the effort put into building ugliness!

  8. One does expect more from a Queen St, I guess.
