In the entrance porch to St George's church, are two memorials to Hyde John Clarke and his wife Ann. In a recent BBC documentary in the "Who Do You Think You Are" series he was revealed as the great-great-great-great-grandfather of Sebastian Coe and the illegitimate son of a slave trader.
Above them are the bottoms of the stone steps that lead up the church tower to the bell-ringing chamber.
You can learn more about Hyde John Clarke on Old Hyde and see a closer view of the memorials on Hyde DP Xtra.
