A tale of six shops
When the estate of modern houses off Grosvenor Road was built in the late 1960s this was a row of six shops. There was a hairdressers, fish & chip shop, greengrocers, butchers, bread shop and newsagents.
By 2009 when I posted a photograph on Hyde Daily Photo Volume 1 only the hairdressers at one end and Yogi's convenience store at the other end remained. See how Yogi's News & Off-licence looked in July 2011.
Now even Yogi has gone and the shop converted to residential use only. The old hairdressers is now the offices of a heating engineer.
A contribution to Our World Tuesday.
