Christmas Lights Switched On

The Christmas lights were switched on in Hyde at 6.30pm last night.

These are the ones on the Town Hall. I'm a bit disappointed that there are no lights on the clock tower as that would have highlighted the shape of the building.

See how they looked 15 years ago in 1998 on Old Hyde.

  1. I expect many will not like these being turned on so early. Maybe I wouldn't if I were there. But the photo makes me smile and feel happy with anticipation. Maybe it will inspire me to get ready for Christmas before January this year. One lives in all sorts of hopes!

  2. Magical arrive of light colours. They create such a pretty street scene.

  3. Lovely!

Here there are crews setting up lights in various places, but they don't get turned on until early December.

  4. Commercialisation of Christmas is far to early as usual so that parents can be pressurised into buying to excess and then some of them going into debt. No lights on the clock tower, health and safety prevails.
