ABC Wednesday: G is for Godley Junction Station Yard
The original station yard at Godley Junction. The station closed in 1995 but trains on the line from Manchester Piccadilly to Glossop still pass by. This was taken from the side of the former Cheshire Lines Committee (CLC) route to Apethorn Junction through fences and barbed wire that prevent access into the old station.
See how busy it once was on Old Hyde.

I love the "tangled" theme in this picture. Great shot!
ReplyDeleteThis is a bit of a sad tale, actually.

The rugged and unkempt make an interesting picture.
ReplyDeleteI see the cobble stones still in place.
ReplyDeleteA lot of history in that piece of ground.
ReplyDeleteHappy ABC Wednesday!

ReplyDeleteSometimes isolated station buildings are sold to people seeking a permanent living place. Who would live in such a house?
