In between the Shell filling station on Dowson Road and Kirkley Street are a pair of bungalows.
Today's post is dedicated to my regular commentator Eileen of Bolton who has mentioned passing them on her way to work when she lived in the area.

hello gerald - eileen from bolton here!
ReplyDeletethanks for this post and the dedication. the view hasn't changed at all in this particular spot. one of my art teachers from leigh street school lived in the left bungalow - mrs faulkes, nearly 50 years ago. the recent photo's for this area could be laid side by side to make one long picture - from gower road to market street. sometimes it's nice to see changes - like the petrol station and enfield court. i think they add to what is a lovely area of hyde. just a couple of minutes from these bungalows and busy road there are some fantasic walks that i like to explore when visiting my brothers and families.
thanks again gerald.
charming BUILDINGS!

Very Bucolic looking spot of Bungalow!
ReplyDeleteNice places; there is definitely something to be said for living close in to town. Fun reading the comment from the lady who you dedicated it to.!
ReplyDeleteLooks like they are handy for the petrol station and the church. How interesting that Eileen remembers who lived there.
