The Old Dye Works from Clarendon Viaduct

Earlier this month I showed a photograph of the demolition of the dye works viewed from across the other side of the motorway.

This photograph shows the extent of the demolition site from over the top of the Clarendon viaduct.

I posted a photograph of the roofs viewed from the side of the viaduct in April 2007.

Another photograph of part of the demolition site can be seen on Hyde DP Xtra.

A contribution to Our World Tuesday and Rubbish Tuesday.

  2. Strangely, I find demolition fascinating. Things go down a lot faster than what they go up. I am also interested in what they leave intact.

  3. We have a lot of places like this around here. Actually one corner of our town square has given up 3 old stores for one new medical clinic. I realize progress is necessary, but I miss the old architecture.

  4. Now, what's the plan for the space? That's the next question. Parking lot? Market? Bank?
