Opposite the Town Hall used to be the Hyde Equitable Co-operative but it later became KwikSave and then Wilkinson's. Now the name has been shortened simply to Wilko.

It's probably similar inside to a discount store chain we have here. Not sure what to think of the shortening of the name though. Wilkinson's sounds better.

ReplyDeleteI went into one in Eccles for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I was amazed by the range of goods they sold.
