The section of John Street behind the camera is a pedestrianised zone although a lot of traffic visiting the Royal Mail Sorting office continue up Hamnett Street and down John Street. The hanging flower baskets on the right are on the side of the Wetherspoon's pub The Cotton Bale.

As a pedestrian (most of the time) I'd be paying close attention to that one :)
ReplyDeletethe addition of hanging flowers add to the beauty of the street.
ReplyDeletefrankly my dear
It's the first time I've seen such a sign. Slightly off the point - I'm always puzzled by the way safe pavements/paths aren't provided in car parks since drivers become pedestrians the moment they leave their cars.
ReplyDeleteI am assuming that the written sign explains the top one?!
ReplyDeleteIf the top sign means "Don't Walk" perhaps you could run? Good find.
