The Peak Forest Canal alongside Aldi
Behind the fence on the left is the Aldi supermarket. Underneath is the towpath of the Peak Forest Canal. The towpath changes sides here by means of a roving bridge - see Manchester Road Roving Brdige.
Behind the fence on the other side of the canal is a footpath that is signposted "Over Yonder" but actually leads to the Tameside Animal Rescue Sanctuary.
