ABC Wednesday: A is for A7-AEE

I spotted this Qatar Airlines A7-AEE shortly after noon on 28th December.

According to Flight Aware it was flying from Beijing to Doha.

However flightradar24.com identifies it as flight QTR24 from Doha to Manchester.

A contribution to ABC Wednesday.

  1. Fantastic shot of the big bird in flight. There's something about how you shot it that really does make it resemble a bird. Carver, ABC Wed. Team

  2. Well, I hope the plane knew where it was going...
    That's a huge "bird".

  5. Even flightradar24.com don't always get it right - I once posted a photograph of a Thomson Airways Boeing 787 Dreamliner coming over Hyde to land at Manchester Airport on which flightradar24.com said was a flight from Cancun to East Midlands Airport.

  6. It's not easy to photograph an aircraft in flight; I know because I've had to try numerous times to do the same thing when they fly over our house. I did manage to get a really special one of Northwest years ago that I used to have as my banner. Now gone just as the airline disappeared into Delta. Perhaps I shouldn't add this, but I still feel chilled when I see this kind of photo because it reminds me of the horrible days of 9/11.

  7. That is a fabulously clear photograph. I just love tracking site although where I live I'm usually looking up ships rather than aircraft.

  8. Splendid capture!

I've never tried to photograph a plane in flight.
