Do not follow SAT NAV

Cartwright Street is a narrow road that cuts a corner between Victoria Street and Talbot Road, Newton. HGVs are banned and the sign warns them to ignore SatNavs which would direct them in that direction.

A contribution to signs, signs.

  1. Given the nature of the street I can see why the ban lorries. Interesting that the GPS would direct traffic that way.

  3. Swell, this sign does not leave the road open for any confusion. It makes it all very clear. Be careful and do not use your GPS. we do not use one because they make no sense to us. We are too old!

  6. There have obviously been some "sticky" situations with HGVs on a narrow road! LOL! Nice to be given a heads-up!

  7. I guess they gave up getting the SatNav to change their ways.
