Sluice Gates on the Peak Forest Canal

This sluice gate on the Peak Forest Canal allows water to run off into Wilson Brook. The houses behind the fence on the right are part of Moorfield Place which was built on the site of the former Automasters Engineering Works.

See how it looked in September 2012, earlier in February 2012, a year earlier in March 2011 and three years before that in March 2008 before the Automasters Works was demolished.

A contribution to Friday Fences and Weekend Reflections.

  14. No flowers this year as compared to a previous photo, but I am surprised that even in February your grass remains green! I am jealous. Ours, of course, lies buried beneath feet of snow for several months (it feels like forever) but when spring finally arrives and the green blades are revealed, my heart leaps for joy!
