Green Lane Bridge
The bridge at Green Lane over the former Godley to Apethorn Railway line has two archways. West of Green Lane the line became single-track and has been reclaimed for the Trans Pennine Trail and National Cycle Route #62. The double arch here allows good separation on the trail between cyclists/walkers and horseriders. I showed you the footpath junction, which here is just behind the photographer, in my post of 25th July.
East of Green Lane the footpath continues over Brookfold Lane bridge towards Godley Junction where a steel fence cuts off the electrified railway line from Manchester to Glossop and Hadfield.
There is a magpie on the bridge - take a closer look on Hyde DP Xtra.

DeleteGorgeous shot of a beautiful bridge.
ReplyDeleteThe bridge is an apt subject for a good photo, but I would love to follow that footpath. It looks like a lovely place for a stroll.
