Friday Fences: End of the line
The footpath along the line of the former Apethorn to Godley Junction railway line ends here at the fence which blocks entry onto the former junction with the line that now runs from Manchester to Glossop.
See how it looked here in 2010 on Hyde Daily Photo Volume 1.
For the view through the fence, a look back up the track and more details about the railway see Hyde DP Xtra.
A contribution to Friday Fences.

A great outdoor scene all fenced in. The fence appears to be metal.
ReplyDeleteLiked seeing how your photography style has evolved over the years. And I like the double meaning to your post title.
ReplyDeleteGood one.
ReplyDeletei like the patterns of the fence, rocks and tree leaves. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the lines in this shot...it draws your eye to the fence!
ReplyDeleteI love the light on your picture. I also love old railway lines to walk on.Fascinating subject matter.
ReplyDeleteVery evocative, the shadowy light makes the image even more so. I had a couple of your regular visitors from Hyde in the shop last week!
ReplyDeleteAw, I hate to see this pretty path come in an end! Bet that sturdy fence keeps the hikers out.
ReplyDeletemakes me wish to go through. maybe hop over? ( :
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't try it - it's an electrified railway line on the other side.
Deletepretty pathway!
ReplyDeleteAn abrupt end at that. Where to now?
ReplyDeletehave to turn round and go back - would be good if there was a way out on to Station Road but there isn't. If you are agile you could climb down the side of Brookfold Lane bridge but I certainly wouldn't try it myself.
DeleteA lovely pathway.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot with a great story. I'm feeling frustrated by that fence blocking my path!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love this shot...glad you gave the link to it.
