The Gardeners Arms

Viewed from behind the fence on the corner of Lumn Road and Walker Lane is the Gardeners Arms.

The pub has a long history, having been the headquarters of Hyde FC from 1898 to 1906.

It was boarded up in March 2010 but re-opened later in the year - see how it looked then on Hyde DP Volume 1.

It has recently undergone a facelift.

A contribution to Friday Fences.

  1. wow, that is a long history. have you eaten there before? enjoy the decorative fence. nice view. take care. ( :

  2. Glad they saved this historic building! nice shot!

  3. It's a great-looking building. Nice that it was restored. I like the metal fence right along the edge of the road.

  4. I like the looped tops on this fence. It's nice to see the building has been restored and is in use.

  5. An interesting place to not be used. You captured all the details fenced in very nicely.

  6. It must be great to drink a few pints there ;-)

    Greetings from the Netherlands,

  7. Wonder what the fence is holding back?
