School Fence

Today's post features the fence at St George's Church of England Primary School. I showed you a little bit of the school in September 2010 but here is a closer view of the surrounding fence.

A day school first existed here in 1836 but was replaced by a new school in 1870. Extensions were made in 1895 and 1913. The stone wall below the fence is part of the perimeter of the "new school". The old buildings were replaced by modern classrooms in 1978.

See photographs and further information about the history of the school on Hyde, Cheshire.

A contribution to Friday Fences.

  1. That's a bright colour for a fence! Nice shot.

  2. That's a very interesting fence. I like the way the colours appear to deepen as you look along the fence.
