M67 from Clark Way
Viewed from Clark Way looking west towards Manchester. The M67 was conceived as a motorway link from Manchester to Sheffield but the only parts that were built were the Hyde and Denton bypasses opened in the late 1970s. Prior to the motorway the view here would have been of George Street with terraced housing, several pubs and two churches.

It is really a cut in the city. Pity it isn't a tunnel with housing on top but of course to expensive.
ReplyDeleteOh my word.... I don't miss the highways in England!!! Mostly because driving on the left hand side still confounds me.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your area, though!
Like the geometry in the picture. Always a safe road ahead, and a good new week as well.
