Another Day, Another Dog
Hyde Daily Photo of the Year 2012 featured a dog and the puddle under Dowson Road bridge over the the former Godley Junction to Apethorn railway whose route is followed by the Trans Pennine Trail and National Cycle Route #62.
That was taken in June. This was taken shortly after midday on New Year's Day 2013 from the other direction. The puddle is still there but this dog has sensibly walked around it and is waiting for his mistress to catch up.
On Hyde DP Xtra see how it looked from the other side of the bridge a week earlier on Christmas Day.

Ah! Now «Louis» sees you've actually posted a "hat trick" - three bridges. Two here and one on your other blog. He sincerely thanks you for your participation in Sunday Bridges.
ReplyDeleteGerald, one more comment - this is really a fine shot!
ReplyDeleteA sensible dog, indeed. Fine brick work on this underpass.
ReplyDeleteMarvellous bridge shot.
ReplyDeleteIt HAS rained a lot in the last 6 months, Gerald, but I think it should be 'There's a puddle there again' rather than 'The puddle is still there'!
ReplyDeleteWell I've never been down there this year when there hasn't been a puddle so while it may have receded slightly from time to time I don't think it has ever really gone away.
DeleteA very impressive bridge and photograph.
ReplyDeleteI really do love photographs like this. Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteNice framing, and a whole story in one photo.
