Police No Entry

Two days after the murder of Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes, Ashworth Lane is still blocked off while hundreds of police guard the area and forensic teams comb the scene.

Floral tributes have been laid at the side of the road. More tributes have been laid at a makeshift shrine on the other side of the cordoned off area - see Hyde DP Xtra for more information and photographs.

An online book of condolences is on the Greater Manchester Police website.

A contribution to signs, signs.

  1. I suppose the police would let you in to lay your flowers?
A very sobering event, this was.

  2. Awww. Bless them. We do the same thing over here in the states. Usually for car accident victims.

  3. Don't know the story, but I feel terrible that someone has been murdered...doesn't seem like it's the best way to die!! Lots of flowers to memorialize the victims.

  4. such a pretty street
makes what happened feel even more eerie

  5. I read about it in our papers here - such a sick individual to lure these policewomen to their death!

  6. ever since Princes Dianna's death leaving flowers at the sight of the tragedy has become the normal and I find it to be such a loving and nice gesture. This must have been a horrible thing and upsetting to so many. genie
