The Leading Edge hair and beauty salon is offering "Prom Packages"; the "Hot Crumpet" sandwich shop is open. There's a no parking sign, a sign for the "Simply Chinese" takeaway. On the other side of the road one house is "To Let" and another is "For Sale". The 330 bus to Stockport displays an electronic sign.

The signs are great ... but my eyes were caught by the wonderful buildings - and those cute chimneys!

I feel like I'm there
You got a great collection of signs on a cool looking street!
ReplyDeleteI used to live in this row of terraces from birth in 1965 until 1984, directly next door to the chinese chip shop, I remember when they first erected a bright yellow sign approx 1982 it was that bright that it illuminated my parents front bedroom to the extent you needed sunglasses, it was soon made dimmer. Also an English couple used to own this chippy from the late 60s to roughly 1975 called Brian and Yvonne Popley, they didn't have any children and would regularly take me and my brother out on Sundays, usually finishing up at Brian's fathers house who was non other than Bernard Youens, aka Stan Ogden from Coronation St.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great photo, I feel like standing where you were, and watch around. Nice signs!
