Welcome to springtime in Hyde
Welcome to Hyde it says on the sign, but spring is here at last and the leaves on the trees have grown and obscure the message.
See how the sign looked in April 2008 before the council added an extra sign advertising advertising space.

ABC Wednesday: U is for Underwater
Underwater?
Are you wondering where the water is?
It is behind the upper fence.
This is the tunnel on the track from Gibraltar Row to Thistley Fields that passes under the Apethorn Aqueduct on the Peak Forest Canal.
As you pass through it you are literally underwater.

Blue Monday: Salvation Army Charity Shop
Back in March I posted a view of a new shop about to open in Clarendon Shopping Centre.As some people predicted it was yet another charity shop. This one supports the Salvation Army. At least it is better than an empty shop.
