Walk along the Trans Pennine Trail and you will reach the bridge at Apethorn Lane. Railings underneath the bridge prevent you walking any further as just round the bend is where the old Godley Junction to Apethorn railway joins the existing main line from Manchester via Hyde Central to Woodley and beyond.

Since then all traces of the former line have been lost under the abundant vegetation.
