Going further left, not on photo, after the passage gates was Fred Bennison's tobacconists, then left of that was Mellors chippy. To the right of the bakers, just visible as the adjoined brick building, was Eric Lyne's grocers. If memory serves right, the reason it is brick is that the original stone building was involved in a fire, and it was rebuilt in brick, though I bow to more knowledge on this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
